1-17:  Records: Cases FILED BEFORE December 1, 2003: ARCHIVES

For bankruptcy cases filed prior to December 1, 2003, documents may be viewed only by case participants and then only if the case has been closed for more than a year.

• Case participants with CM/ECF access may view these documents at any time.
• Case participants without access to CM/ECF may request copies of documents at a charge of 50 cents per page, and may make the request in person at an intake window or by contacting the court to determine the cost and then mailing the amount to the court.

If the document is not available in CM/ECF, it must be requested from the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) in Riverside, CA by fax, email, United States Postal Service, or online by clicking here (link is external). When requesting files from NARA, the case information must be provided, which includes the case number, transfer number, box number, and location number.
