3-02: Chambers: DELIVER a JUDGE'S COPY
LBR 5005-2(d) provides the requirement to serve a judge's copy of many documents.
A judge's copy is important to get your papers in front of the court as quickly as possible.
See link below include the address of the courthouse and suite number for a judge's chambers.
See link below for requirements on assembling and serving a judge's copy, which includes the requirement that a judge's copy must be stapled or bound in a way that the binding remains in place while the judge's copy is read.
See link below to TCG Supplement where you will find helpful instructions:
- Assembling a judge's copy: Note that a judge's copy must be stapled or bound in a way that the binding remains in place while the judge's copy is read.
- Address to serve a judge's copy: See the last pages of the TCG Supplement for a list of addresses to mail or drop off a judge's copy.
- Is a Judge's Copy Needed for Any Judge?: Many documents DO NOT require a judge's copy for any judge. See the list included in the TCG Supplement.
- Does My Judge Want a Judge's Copy?: See the webpage for your judge to determine if there are specific instructions about serving a judge's copy.
See section 4 the link to LBR 5003-2(c) regarding filing documents under seal, and how that scenario impacts delivery of a judge's copy.
