Replacement of an Existing Cable Plant

News Category:
Bids & Proposals

Dear Vendors:

The Bankruptcy Court is seeking quotes from qualified vendors to replace its existing CAT 5 horizontal cable at its Roybal Federal Courthouse in Los Angeles as stipulated in the Statement of Work attached.  The courthouse is located at:

U.S. Bankruptcy Court
Central District of California
255 E. Temple Street
Los Angeles, CA 90012

This project calls for a replacement of the existing Cat 5 horizontal cable plant on the 13th, 15th and 16th levels with a new vertical backbone cabling from the 10th floor Server room to the 16th in the Roybal Federal Court Building in Los Angeles, California. The vertical backbone cabling to the 13th and 15th levels were installed on a previous project to be connected to the U.S. Federal Court network equipment and devices. Work will be performed in spaces occupied by the U.S. Bankruptcy Court.  Drawings provided reflect the desired upgrade to the U.S. Bankruptcy Court data services network. The current horizontal cabling on levels 13, 15 and 16 for data and phone services must be replaced with Category 6 (enhanced) cabling. Refer to these drawings for the number of outlets, racks and connectivity hardware available.  Since this installation will be performed in an operating facility, the work must be completed after hours. The contractor must replace cables at workstations and ensure cabling is functional before the next workday.  Existing pathways for the horizontal distribution of cables will utilize “accessible” ceiling space. Existing outlets have several conduits in walls, underfloor duct ways and cabling in and around furniture and carpet which will require extensive preparation to ensure workstations with new cabling are ready for use by the next business day.

The Statement of Work prepared for this project relies on ANSI/TIA/EIA standards and the associated BICSI installation guidelines as well as accepted practices for this system installation.  Any system requirements supported by these standards and practices are part of this project and must be reflected in your RFQ response. Your bid documents must include unit pricing for the installation of a (1) ea. CAT 6 drop workstation, (2) ea. CAT 6 drop workstation and (3) ea. drop CAT 6 workstation.

This is a request for open market pricing.  Proposals shall be emailed to the below listed address by January 21, 2019 by 1:00PM PST.  A firm fixed price award from this RFQ will be made based on the lowest priced, technically acceptable offer.  Each vendor shall submit with their quote documentation validating their category 6 Ethernet cabling certification as well as three references of similar sized projects.

All questions and clarifications need to be submitted to the court by email, on January 14, 2019 by 1:00PM PST to leo_roeder@cacb.uscourts.gov.

Quote must be submitted by email on January 21, 2019 by 1:00PM PST to leo_roeder@cacb.uscourts.gov.
