7064-1: Writs: ABSTRACT OF JUDGMENT: Writ of EXECUTION

An Abstract of Judgment is a document that is used to record a lien against a debtor’s property. Abstracts are issued by the bankruptcy court and recorded in the county where the debtor’s property is located. It is the responsibility of the person requesting the Abstract to record it.
For an Abstract of Judgment, the court requires,
- The original Abstract form plus two copies, and
- An entered copy of the Judgment or Order must be attached to each Abstract form.
The Abstract form must be completely filled out, with no blank lines, alterations, or white out. The information in the Abstract form must also reflect the information contained in the Judgment or Order.
The Abstract must be filed at the Intake Window or mailed to the court.
A filing fee is also due when requesting an Abstract of Judgment. Please consult the court’s fee schedule for the current fee (see link below).
