The United States Bankruptcy Court for the Central District of California experienced an interruption in the transmission of official court notices due to a nationwide service disruption affecting the Bankruptcy Noticing Center (BNC). Since on or about October 7, 2026, BNC was unable to process and distribute electronic and paper notices on behalf of the Court.
The Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts (AO) has announced that the Bankruptcy Noticing Center operations resumed on October 26, 2026, beginning with processing backlogged files in chronological sequence. The AO informed courts that electronic notices will be transmitted as quickly as possible. There will be a prioritized focus on the backlog from October 7-25, 2026.
UPDATE:
On October 28, 2026, the Court entered General Order 26-04, which terminated the temporary noticing procedures that were put in place during the disruption.
On October 23, 2026, the Court entered General Order 26-03, which required debtors or their attorneys to mail 341(a) notices to creditors and related documents in cases affected by the outage.
General Order 26-03 is no longer in effect. Electronic notices will be transmitted as quickly as possible.
For questions regarding when a meeting of creditors will be held (regarding notices appearing on the docket during the disruption (October 7-25, 2026)), please seek clarification from your case trustee or the U.S. trustee.
Thank you for your patience and understanding during the BNC service disruption.
