Request Access to Electronic Drop Box

Official Time of Filing

The official time of filing is when a document is entered and docketed in CM/ECF,  regardless of the filing method (in person, electronically through CM/ECF, through eSR or EDB).

See Important Information Regarding Filing Fees for Self-Represented Litigants:

The Court is not accepting cash at this time. Please do not mail cash. The Court will accept payment by U.S. Postal Service money orders and cashier’s checks issued by an acceptable financial institution. See General Orders for further details.

The Electronic Drop Box (EDB) is a tool available to self-represented litigants that enables them to upload court documents for filing electronically in bankruptcy cases and adversary proceedings pending in this District.  Once you are determined to be eligible to use the Electronic Drop Box, the court will provide you with a link to upload your documents.  All signatures must be made holographically using an ink pen before the documents are submitted into the EDB Portal. After the court reviews the uploaded document, it will be filed with the court.

Are you eligible for Electronic Drop Box access?

  1. Are you self-represented (you don’t have an attorney)?
  2. Are you filing a document that does NOT require a filing fee? [check the Filing Fee Schedule if  you’re not sure].
  3. Do you have an internet enabled computer AND a cell phone?
  4. Can you save your document in .pdf format?

If you answered yes to all questions, you are eligible to use the Electronic Drop Box.

  1. Complete the application.
  2. Attach a digital photograph of your signature (you may take the photograph with a smartphone).
  3. Attach a photo or scanned copy of your government-issued photo identification, such as your driver’s license or passport.
