In the event that Congress does not pass a fiscal year (FY) 2024 appropriations bill to continue funding the federal government beyond midnight on Saturday, September 30, 2023, federal agencies will have to implement shutdown plans immediately. Under such a lapse in appropriations scenario, the Judiciary would be able to sustain paid operations through the use of fee balances and no-year appropriations for at least two weeks, or through October 13, 2023.   

During that time, scheduled hearings will be held as usual, filings will be accepted, hours of operation, availability of systems, and other services will continue as normal.  In the event circumstances change, the Court will provide notice of any changes to scheduled hearings and service levels.
